Dabney Nursery Story
Open Mon-Sat 8-5:00
We aim to provide healthy, quality plants grown for the Mid-South's climate & soil.
The Dabney nursery grows more than 75% of our nursery stock, including trees, roses, hydrangeas, hostas, annuals & perennials. Thus we are able to cater to our customers needs, and to determine what plants do well in our area. Our field grown trees are grown in our own clay soil, making them well adapted to the surrounding community.

In 1982, Dabney Turley returned to Memphis to open a new nursery on the family farm. After receiving a BS in Horticulture & gaining work experience at various Tennessee nurseries, Dabney chose Bill Hardman, a native of Oklahoma, for his field foreman. Together they created The Dabney Nursery, specializing in trees & shrubs, and ranked West Tennessee's 8th fastest growing small business in 1991. Although Bill is sadly no longer with us, he trained a field crew to continue growing quality trees for the Mid-South.
In 1995, Dabney's older brother Hubert joined the nursery, and helped expand the nursery into the retail market. Hubert is now the driving force behind our continually updated rose and annual color offerings.
